We didn't start out in the fashion industry. We began as two women who were having the time of our lives living in Manhattan. We were working our way up in the magazine industry when our eyes were opened by the dreaded C-word: CANCER.

At the time of Melissa's malignant melanoma diagnosis at 26, we were just like many of you & shocked to find out our lightweight clothing wasn't protecting us as much as we thought. We started looking for stylish sun protective options and realized they didn't exist for ourselves or our families.
